Alex, I know you are worried about dad because he is shifting to another business venture. But we should know him better. We should trust that he won't get into commercial roofing industry, if he did not think it is a good investment. Don't worry about it. Dad definitely knows what he is doing. But Alex can't help but still be worried. He can't forget that once upon a time, their dad invested his money on a business that did not work. As a result, they had to sell their old house in Alabama. It was a good thing that a few years after that unfortunate incident, his dad was able to borrow money from Uncle Ben. Because of Uncle Ben's help, his dad was able to put up another business. Thank God, their furniture business has been doing quite well. Since then, the family has been enjoying the fruits of their dad's furniture business. Now Alex cannot understand why the need to shift to another one, if everything is well. But for his dad, to start something new is never too early nor too late. He believes that his new business endeavor will even bring them more fortune in the days to come. |

Beauty is what will drive me to get slates and tiles for my house. This is not something that I am thinking of. I already have hired slating and tiling contractors who came highly recommended by colleagues of mine. These slates and tiles do not have a lot of fuss when it comes to making sure that it remains presentable. I am never in the house because if my tedious work schedule now you can imagine when I realized that I do not have to keep on cleaning the slate and the tiles so that they can have a better ambiance. The contractors that I hired informed me that the slates and tiles that I chose to use even outside my home will not be affected during the winter. Concrete has this habit of cracking during winter because of the ice and this is not how the slates and tiles are. I have a neighbor who has kids and pets and has a floor of tiles and slates. You would naturally expect the floor to slowly lose its color but that has not happened. |

After months of supervision and endless expenses our recreation room in the basement is finally finished. We just have to make a few touch-ups and complete the furnishings of the mini bar. My husband and I always go out for cocktails after work before we go home so we decided that our new room should have a bar complete with different liquors and wines. I am in charge of finding elegant yet cheap bar stools. I have asked my friends for suggestions but none of them has yet to respond. I have seen several movies with modern and chic stools but I am pretty sure that we wouldn’t be able to afford it. My husband suggested that I browse for best deals online or we could go to a flea market or second hand shops to see if we could find anything worth remodeling. He is quite good in transforming dull things into something with aesthetic value so I am confident that we will be able to find the perfect stools for our bar in no time. |

I have been a home maker ever since I got married. My mom had been absent most of my growing years that I promised myself that I will give up my career once I have a family to make sure that my children will not feel deprived or wanting. Since I personally take care of every aspect of the house, my friends always ask for my suggestions and opinions on anything and everything about keeping a home. Just yesterday I have shared with my friends some unique and unconventional window treatment ideas. They were all surprised that their options are not limited to curtains and drapes when it comes to making the window beautiful and attractive. I didn’t know as well, but since I wanted our home to be different and unique I have spent a lot of time researching and reading on home improvement ideas and interior designing. I have been really good at it that some of my friends who are business-minded are even coaxing me to go on a business venture with them something that I am not expecting. |

Children are naturally curious of their surroundings. It’s how they learn things in their own way! Though, it gets them into sticky situations…like when they decide to do silly things like eat a bug or draw on the walls. But other times, this curiosity of theirs can cause them harm. When it comes to DIY, the satisfaction of knowing you have done it yourself is great. From the simple things like colour coding your living room - from the cushion covers to the paint on the walls, to the more complex (and challenging!).
My dream DIY job (in an ideal world) would be: I have always wanted to build a tree house in my garden on the oak tree that overlooks our summerhouse unfortunately time has never been on my side. The idea of having a tree house in the garden is of great interest to me because my parents built me one when I was little my kids have said they would love to do it as a bit of a summer project in the school holidays, but I would need to be there to supervise. Getting the time needed for this is difficult with a job that requires long working hours! That is my ideal DIY job - but for now I think I will just have to stick with a bit of painting and decorating inside the home. |

When our basement is flooded taking the water out manually seems to be impossible. The best way to take the whole water out in the least time possible is through the sump pump this is to remedy the wetness of the basement especially if the basement flooding happens often. It will take all the water away from an area and make it dry the soonest time.
In older times the sump pump is connected into the sewages system of the municipalities but the government had discouraged this practice since it will overwhelm the sewage treatment system of the government. The government had imposed a fine for any body doing this practice.
