Advanced computer skills required for all employees.

Advanced computer skills are what many companies need these days in order to make their work more easy for faster attainment of the set goals. I have been to a company where employees with basic computer skills are never hired not because they cannot work but because their computer skills are so low. This should put all job seekers on their toes because they stand to miss a chance to work and earn a living because they lack the desired skills. Skills like how to connect odbc to ms access in order to access database systems are the most required skills in this day and age. Working with word, excel and all the other spreadsheets are no longer a major consideration. It means that all of us need to study IT in order to fit well in the employment sectors. If we do this, I wonder what will be the use of our IT guys since we will be doing all their work. Maybe they too should be considering studying for other careers so as to be in a good position when they start losing their jobs.
